Red Sword-grass

A scarce moth, recorded in small numbers most years.&nbsp; Whilst there are a scattering of records right across the county, it is found most commonly around Clevedon/Portishead, and around Taunton and Crewkerne.

Blair's Shoulder-knot

A fairly recent colonist, only arriving in this country in the 1950s.&nbsp; Widespread in Somerset, though as the larval foodplant is ornamental (cypresses), it is a moth associated with urban areas.

Sword-grass

A species of moorland, rough pasture and open woodland. It used to be found widely in England and Wales, but its range has constricted northwards and is now largely restricted to north-east Scotland. Outside of that area it is a scarce immigrant.&nbsp; There has been a scattering of records in the county. It can be confused with Red Sword-grass.
