Six-striped Rustic

A reasonably widespread if not especially common moth of late summer, appearing commoner in western and southern Somerset and notably scarce in the centre of the county.

Heath Rustic

In Somerset, a moth of upland moorland, with good populations on Exmoor and Quantock.&nbsp; However, it seems to be absent from the Blackdowns, and, on Mendip, it has only recently been recorded from Black Down.&nbsp; Although its larvae feed on heathers, it is absent from the relict heaths on the Levels.&nbsp; There is a scattering of records through lowland Somerset which presumably result from dispersing/wandering individuals.

Square-spot Rustic

Widespread and common throughout the county (except perhaps on Exmoor moorland), this variable moth is often one of the most common to light in late August and September.
