The Tissue

A scarce moth associated with buckthorns, which are themselves local species in Somerset.  Most records are of very low numbers from a handful of core areas - the Exmoor coast, around Brean Down, central Mendip and around Frome.  This moth overwinters as a hibernating adult, and can be found doing so in caves; this behaviour has rarely been witnessed in Somerset though parts of its range here have an abundance of suitable sites.
