This species used to found more widely but is now largely restricted to scattered sites on chalk downs in southern England, where it frequents scrub, hedgerows and open woodland. Always very rare and local in the county, the small number of 21st century records have come from Great Breech Wood, near Somerton. The larvae feed on Privet and Ash.
