Satin Lutestring

A scarce and local moth in the county, with three centres of distribution - the Avon Gorge/Tickenham ridge, around Porlock, and the northern Quantocks.&nbsp; Old, isolated records from elsewhere may reflect wandering individuals or lost populations.<br>

Fairly well distributed across much of the county; a poplar-feeder, and understandably scarce in parts of Exmoor and eastern Somerset where the foodplant is rarely found or absent.<br>

Just seven records of this moth - two old ones from the Bath area, two from the northern fringes of the Quantocks, two from the far south-east of the county, and one from Langport.&nbsp; These suggest small, scattered colonies.<br>
