Holm-oak Pigmy

A miner on Holm Oak Quercus ilex, an introduced species fashionable in large gardens in the 19th century, still planted, and occasionally naturalised. Most often recorded from Bath and Weston-super-Mare, with a scatter of records elsewhere.&nbsp; It is becoming increasingly hard to find amongst the masses of Ectoedemia heringella&nbsp;mines that can now be found on Holm Oak at the same time.

Beech Pigmy

A leaf-miner on Beech.&nbsp; Reasonably common and widely distributed, though nowhere near as abundant as S. tityrella&nbsp;which shares the same foodplant.

Barred Sycamore Pigmy

A leaf-miner on Sycamore.&nbsp; A concentration of records around Porlock and a scatter north of the Mendips, very few records elsewhere.&nbsp; There are surprisingly few records of this species considering the abundance of the foodplant.
