Scrubland Pigmy

A leaf-miner on blackthorn.&nbsp; Very common and widespread, though can fluctuate in numbers from one year to the next.&nbsp; Some gaps in its distribution are from lack of recording, but it may genuinely be absent through lack of foodplant from areas of Exmoor, the Quantocks and the Levels.

Aspen Pigmy

A leaf-miner on Aspen <i>Populus tremula</i> and White Poplar <i>Populus alba</i>, neither of which are common trees in Somerset.&nbsp; Three records from two sites (and both foodplants) in and around Frome, an area with good numbers of poplars by Somerset standards.

Barred Rowan Pigmy

A leaf-miner on Rowan.&nbsp; Scarce, and restricted by the distribution of the tree, which is restricted to acidic uplands in Somerset.&nbsp; A cluster of records from the Quantocks, a thin scatter of records from Exmoor, and isolated examples from Britty Common (Blackdowns), Beacon Hill Wood (Mendip) and Clevedon.
