Narrow-bordered Bee Hawk-moth

A much-declined moth of damp grasslands where it is associated with Devil's Bit Scabious Succisa pratensis.&nbsp; It still exists in the county on the landslips at Blue Anchor cliffs.&nbsp; The moth was regularly found around Blagdon Lake, but has not been recorded since 2011, and there is a 2014 record from Sand Bay.&nbsp; Long since lost from the rest of the county.

Privet Hawk-moth

Thinly spread across the county and regularly recorded, though scarce in parts of central and eastern Somerset.

Pine Hawk-moth

Around 30 records, sporadically distributed across the county, and seemingly increasing in frequency.&nbsp; Many records result from wanderings, and the moth is not definitively resident, though it may well be in the far east of the county from where there is a sequence of records from suitable habitat.
