Common and widespread across the county, though conspicuously absent from inland Exmoor.&nbsp; It comes to light but is at least as likely to be found flying by day, usually in flowery places.<br>

July Belle

&nbsp;A gorse-feeder, locally common around Porlock/Minehead and in the north Quantocks, with more diffuse populations in the south of Exmoor, the Blackdowns and parts of the Mendips.&nbsp; May perhaps be declining in these areas.<br>

Chalk Carpet

A moth of calcareous downland, coastal cliffs and post-industrial sites, most commonly reported from the Poldens, Mendips and Avon Gorge, with a scattering of other sites, most notably along the west Somerset coast.<br>
