Pinion-streaked Snout

    Schrankia costaestrigalis

Can easily be mistaken for a micro-moth and is perhaps under-recorded as a result.  It is now being recorded much more frequently than formerly, perhaps because identification has become easier, or perhaps because it is becoming commoner.  Currently around ten records a year of single individuals or small numbers, generally in or near damp wooded areas (including in gardens), and absent from those parts of the county lacking in this resource.

    Adult Verification Grade: 2
