New Pine Knot-horn

A recent arrival, that seems to be establishing itself in the west of the county, but still a rare species.

Heather Knot-horn

A heather-feeder, this is a moorland species in Somerset.&nbsp; Few light-traps are run on its habitat, and it is doubtless more widespread on the Quantocks and Exmoor than the records indicate.&nbsp; There is an old record from Leigh Woods, but it seems unlikely to still be present here.

A handful of records of this elm-feeding species most years to light.&nbsp; Most of these are from south and west of the Poldens.
