Nationally, this is a moth of south-east England.  The isolated Somerset population is anomalous in a national context, being located in the west of the county between Porlock and Taunton, and the distribution is hard to explain, as the usually preferred foodplant Field Maple Acer campestre abounds in parts of this area, it is also widespread in the drier, more calcareous eastern half of the county, which ought to be suitable for the moth.
