Dark Ash-bud Moth

Relatively recently split from <i>P. fraxinella</i>.&nbsp; Unrecorded in the county before 2015, it has been seen every year since, with over half the records in 2020.

Northern Ermel

"The writer may be wrong but he really cannot accept this.&nbsp; Durham, according to all authorities is the southern limit for this record.&nbsp; We have tried to trace the specimen but it is not in the Doidge collection and Doidge himself, by whom it was notified, could remember nothing about it.&nbsp; It is an obscure looking little moth at the best and the writer is convinced that its identification was erroneous" (A. Ash-bud Moth

Widespread across the county, though apparently absent from the Levels and also from the Mendips, surprisingly considering the abundance of ash in Mendip woodlands.
