Red Hazel Midget

Widely distributed and fairly common wherever hazel occurs, though nowhere near as abundant as <i>Phyllonorycter coryli</i> which shares the same foodplant.&nbsp; A species where the mines can often be numerous in one area of a hedgerow, but absent from adjacent parts.

Small Alder Midget

A widespread and moderately common miner of alders.

Broad-barred Midget

Probably the scarcest of the four Phyllonorycter species mining common alder, Alnus glutinosa, but still fairly widespread where the foodplant is found, and probably more evenly distributed across the county than the distribution map currently suggests.
