Poplar Bent-wing

A leaf-miner on poplars.&nbsp;
Much less common than <i>P. saligna</i>,
but much more widespread, probably occurring throughout the county wherever
poplars are found; essentially absent from upland Somerset through lack of
foodplant.

Horse-Chestnut Leaf-miner

An adventive species mining horse-chestnut, usually in
considerable numbers, and almost always present wherever the foodplant occurs,
even where planted singly; as of 2018 it was still possible to find isolated
trees in remote parts of Exmoor which had not been colonised by the moth.&nbsp; Commonest in urban areas, likely to be
altogether absent in areas of the countryside where no horse-chestnuts are
present.

Willow Bent-wing

A leaf-miner on willows.&nbsp;
Very common on the central Levels and the Tone valley to just upstream
of Taunton.&nbsp; Fairly scarce in and around
the Frome and Chew valleys in the north-east of the county.&nbsp; No records from the north Somerset Levels,
where perhaps it ought to occur.
