Mere Wainscot

    Photedes fluxa

    NoctuidaeABH 73.145 B&F 2349

A moth of damp woodlands and wetlands, that is probably a very scarce resident.  The larval host plant is Wood Small-reed (Calamagrostis epigejos), a scarce and local plant in Somerset, and its few records come from strongholds of the plant in the county.  The only recent records are from Crook Peak (2011, 2012) and Stoke Trister (1991).  Formerly from the Weston-super-Mare/Clevedon/Tickenham area and from around Watchet.

    Adult Verification Grade: 2
