Brindled Beauty

Essentially a woodland moth, but one that does come to lights in gardens.&nbsp; As it is mostly flying in April, it is possibly under-recorded, but there is no doubt it is common and widespread, gaps in its distribution doubtless reflecting lack of recording at that time of year.

Small Brindled Beauty

An early spring moth of Oak woodland and hedgerows with large oaks. Confined largely to southern England and Wales, it is local in the south-west and has been recorded in scattered locations in the county. The males come to light and females may be found on trunks of trees.
