Beautiful Knot-horn

A handful of records of this elm-feeding species most years to light.&nbsp; Most of these are from south and west of the Poldens.

Gorse Knot-horn

Recorded from Bickenhall in the Blackdowns in 1946; this is the only Somerset record.&nbsp; The larval foodplant is gorse, which abounds in parts of the county, but as the moth comes to light, it appears unlikely to still be present.

Heather Knot-horn

A heather-feeder, this is a moorland species in Somerset.&nbsp; Few light-traps are run on its habitat, and it is doubtless more widespread on the Quantocks and Exmoor than the records indicate.&nbsp; There is an old record from Leigh Woods, but it seems unlikely to still be present here.
