The Wormwood

A nationally scarce, much declined, moth, found mainly from Dorset, east to Kent and northwards to East Anglia and the Midlands. Turner (1955) said it used to be found on the north coast of the county but that there were few records.&nbsp; There has been just a handful of modern records.

The Coronet

This variable moth is common and
widespread at the time of writing, though the devastation of its main foodplant
by ash dieback raises obvious concerns over its future.

Small Yellow Underwing

This moth flies by day and is
often overlooked as a pyralid – some of the genus Pyrausta are superficially
similar. It is, therefore, under-recorded.&nbsp;
Although fairly widespread across much of the county, it must have
declined significantly through the destruction of the flower-rich places where
it lives.
