Olethreutes arcuella
Coppice Beauty
TortricidaeABH 49.179 B&F 1080This beautiful little day-flyer is rare and local in Somerset, though possibly under-recorded. Largely an Exmoor species; most records are from Haddon Hill, but it also occurs in and around Halse Combe further north. Formerly in the Quantocks, but last seen there at Five Lords Wood in 1986. A single record from Berkley Marsh in the extreme east of the county in 2015; like the Exmoor sites, it is an acidic, oaky area, and the moth could occur elsewhere nearby.
