L-album Wainscot

    Mythimna l-album

    NoctuidaeABH 73.3 B&F 2202

A recent colonist, rapidly expanding.  Initially found mainly coastally, but now found well inland.   Old records in the far south of the county in 1994-1996 may be immigrant examples, and the moth did not establish itself there.  There was an isolated record in the Berrow area in 1996, but it became established around Weston-super-Mare/Sand Bay in 2010 and regularly recorded between Clevedon and Burnham-on-Sea by 2014.  It has spread inland from about 2017-2018 and is now found widely, if locally, across the county, with regular records from some sites suggesting local colonies.
