Red Mompha

Scarce, and generally a species found in the west of the county.

Clouded Mompha

Recorded in small numbers most years, usually of adults to light, though also from larval mines on enchanter's nightshade, <i>Circaea lutetiana</i>.&nbsp; This species is widespread but with a concentration of records on the northern fringes of Exmoor, an area which is generally under-recorded for moths.

Brown Mompha

Restricted by the distribution of its foodplants, rock-roses Helianthemum spp., to calcareous areas.&nbsp; It appears to be widespread in the western Mendips and occurs more locally elsewhere.&nbsp; There are relatively few records of this species to light - it has also been recorded by daytime observations of the adult and of the larval mines in May and June.
