Widely if thinly distributed across the county, perhaps commonest in the west, and perhaps under-recorded due to its relatively early flight time.

Large Ranunculus

A distinctly local species, absent from some garden light traps but occurring regularly in others, this subtly-marked moth appears common in the south of the county, around and between Taunton and Yeovil, and also north of the Mendips, but seems rare or absent in the low-lying parts of the county in between.

Dark Brocade

One of the less fathomable moths on the Somerset list, this species' records are an apparently random scattering across the county.&nbsp; It seems to be in the habit of being recorded several times from a single location in one year, then disappearing from the area.
