Yellow-barred Gold

Associated with bilberry, so predominately a moth of upland Somerset, frequently reported (by micro-moth standards) from the Blackdowns, Quantocks and Exmoor.&nbsp; Only one, pre-1945, record from VC6, at Penselwood, though it is not impossible that it still exists somewhere in the woodlands on the Wiltshire border.<br>

Red-barred Gold

Probably overlooked; appears commonest north of the Mendips and reported tolerably frequently from places in the southern/western uplands where micro-moths have been well surveyed.&nbsp; Fewer records from lowland Somerset south of the Mendips.<br>

Black-headed Gold

Evidently much declined since Turner (1955) described it as 'locally common in marshy places...'.&nbsp; There are just seven records in the database, the most recent being in 2010.<br>
