Gypsy Moth

    A former resident in East Anglian fens, this species became extinct before 1900 but has since become re-established as a resident, immigrant and adventive.  On mainland Europe, where it is often a pest, it is found in a variety of habitats, where the larvae feed on broadleaved trees and bushes. There has been just one confirmed record in the county, in 1992.
