Large Wainscot

A wetland species, it flies late
in the year and is probably under-recorded as a result, especially away from
gardens in its core habitat.&nbsp;
Nevertheless, it can be a frequent visitor to garden lights in areas
near suitable habitat.

Ear Moth

Found in a range of open habitats, it is more likely to be found inland than other 'Ear' species, favouring damp habitats. As with its cousins, identification can only reliably be made by dissection.

Flounced Rustic

A widespread moth, sometimes numerous at light, especially in the western half of the county, though numbers are only a shadow of what they were in the 1960s-1980s.&nbsp; Something of a rarity now in parts of eastern Somerset.
