Broom Bent-wing

This species mines the leaves of broom.&nbsp; Like a number of species associated with
broom, it was recorded from Brislington in the 1906 Victoria County History but
has not been seen in the county since. It may still occur in the area or in
parts of western Somerset where broom is still widespread.

Striped Bent-wing

One record; to light at Thurlbear in 2007.&nbsp; This moth has declined but now appears to be
re-expanding in range from the south-east, so might be expected more often in
the county in the future.

Laburnum Leaf-miner

Scarce, and scattered in distribution across the
county.&nbsp; It has been recorded at light
but is more usually recorded as a leaf-mine.&nbsp;
There are two potential hostplants, dyer’s greenweed which is a
declining native species, and laburnum which is a predominately urban
ornamental.&nbsp; Although recorded from both
species in Somerset, dyer’s greenweed still seems to be the preferred host.
