Leucoptera laburnella

    Laburnum Leaf-miner

    LyonetiidaeABH 21.004 B&F 254

Scarce, and scattered in distribution across the county.  It has been recorded at light but is more usually recorded as a leaf-mine.  There are two potential hostplants, dyer’s greenweed which is a declining native species, and laburnum which is a predominately urban ornamental.  Although recorded from both species in Somerset, dyer’s greenweed still seems to be the preferred host.
