Fox Moth

A declining moth of unimproved grassland.&nbsp; Still reasonably frequent on Exmoor and the Quantocks,&nbsp; to a lesser extent on the Mendips, the Blackdowns, the limestone grasslands around Bath, and around Shapwick and Westhay.&nbsp; Occasionally recorded from elsewhere.

Grass Eggar

Almost certainly extinct in the county, and only known from the coastal strip between Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-super-Mare.&nbsp; The last records are from 1983 and 1995.

Oak Eggar

Fairly widely reported from across the county, seemingly most frequent in large nature reserves.&nbsp; Absent, for no obvious reason, from most of the eastern quarter of the county, though reappearing in the band of woods that make up the border with Wiltshire.
