Striped Hawk-moth

    Hyles livornica

    SphingidaeABH 69.015 B&F 1990

A migrant, occurring in small numbers in most but not every year, occasionally migrating in some numbers.  Unlike many migrant moths, the peak period seems to be in May and June.  The distribution map suggests a typical migration path from the far south of the county, up the Parrett valley and then up the coast towards Bristol.
