Welsh Wave

A species of open woodland, mainly Rowan, and moorland, so in Somerset is restricted largely to Exmoor and the Quantocks. Recorded in small numbers and not annually. Rest on tree-trunks or rocks during the day but also comes to light.

Waved Carpet

A moth of damp, wooded areas, most frequently reported from the Brendons, eastern Exmoor and the Blackdowns.&nbsp; Resident in the woods on the Wiltshire border; occasional records from elsewhere may reflect local populations or may result from dispersing individuals.

Widespread and regularly recorded right across Somerset.<br>
