A scarce moth in Somerset, not recorded every year.&nbsp; The distribution map does not give the full picture - it is far more commonly recorded coastally than inland.

Scarce Clouded Knot-horn

Something of an enigma in Somerset.&nbsp; Abbots Leigh and Portishead (pre-1906), Bridgwater (1927) and Bickenhall (1958).&nbsp; The foodplant is Sheep's bit <i>Jasione montana</i>, which does not occur in the areas in which the moth can be found, and in Somerset is confined to the far west of the county.
