Always rare in the county, now extinct, the last records being in 1950 and 1986.

Pine Hawk-moth

Around 30 records, sporadically distributed across the county, and seemingly increasing in frequency.&nbsp; Many records result from wanderings, and the moth is not definitively resident, though it may well be in the far east of the county from where there is a sequence of records from suitable habitat.

Narrow-bordered Bee Hawk-moth

A much-declined moth of damp grasslands where it is associated with Devil's Bit Scabious Succisa pratensis.&nbsp; It still exists in the county on the landslips at Blue Anchor cliffs and has been recorded occasionally elsewhere.&nbsp; The moth was regularly found around Blagdon Lake until 2011, but after a gap was recorded again in 2025 (not shown on map).
