This exotic and fascinating moth is a migrant occurring annually in very variable numbers right across the county.

Narrow-bordered Bee Hawk-moth

A much-declined moth of damp grasslands where it is associated with Devil's Bit Scabious Succisa pratensis.&nbsp; It still exists in the county on the landslips at Blue Anchor cliffs.&nbsp; The moth was regularly found around Blagdon Lake, but has not been recorded since 2011, and there is a 2014 record from Sand Bay.&nbsp; Long since lost from the rest of the county.

Always rare in the county, now extinct, the last records being in 1950 and 1986.
