Blotched Emerald

Rare, although occasionally found
in numbers, with Great Breach Wood being a favoured site.&nbsp; Most records now come from the Poldens and
points south and west of there.&nbsp; Formerly
more widespread.

Grass Emerald

Seems largely restricted to areas of acid soils where intensive agriculture does not take place, particularly the upland areas.&nbsp; It seems to be fairly common on its habitats, but does not wander far.

Large Emerald

A fairly widespread and common species; birch is the main larval hostplant and the moth is undoubtedly commoner in those areas of the county retaining good stands of birch.
