Narrow-winged Pug

Associated with heather, so in Somerset largely a moorland species, with most records coming from the Quantocks and Exmoor (where it is probably considerably under-recorded).&nbsp; May still occur at Black Down on the Mendips, which offers suitable habitat, and probably still occurs in the woods on the Wiltshire border around Stourhead.&nbsp; Has disappeared from the peat moors on the Levels, doubtless through habitat loss.&nbsp; Occasional dispersing individuals can turn up anywhere in the county, though are most frequent coastally.

Plain Pug

Widespread but scarce and local, with usually only a handful being reported each year.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Goosefoot Pug

Probably a rare immigrant from northern and eastern Europe, recorded only a handful of times in southern England, one of which was at Berrow, in the county, in June 1992. It inhabits open, disturbed, ground.
