    There has been a long-term decrease in this species, which is nationally widespread and local on moorland, calcareous grassland, parks and gardens. The larvae feed on on wild and cultivated  Juniper. It may occasionally fly in sunshine. Historically rare and local in the county, where it has been recorded irregularly in small numbers, but recent records have been very few and far between.
