Marsh Pug

A nationally scarce species which has always been very rare in<i>&nbsp;t</i>he county but may be overlooked. Its habitat preferences are open, marshy, habitats, wet meadows and fens, coastal sand dunes and waste ground, where its food plant, Field Mouse-ear, can be found.&nbsp; The larvae feed on the flowers and seeds of the foodplant. It may fly in sunshine and will sometimes come to light.

Foxglove Pug

A common and widespread moth, though scarcer in calcareous districts and in the Levels, probably as foxgloves do not occur naturally in these areas.

Lead-coloured Pug

A nationally scarce species associated with Common Cow-wheat in open woodland, and possibly Yellow Rattle in open habitats. Historically rare and local in the county, where it is recorded irregularly in very small numbers, mainly in the Exmoor region and the Quantocks.
