Pimpinel Pug

Thinly recorded in southern England, this species is very rare and local in the county, perhaps under recorded&nbsp; due to its similarity to Wormwood Pug, and to a lesser extent, Yarrow Pug and Campanula Pug. It may fly by day near the larval foodplant, Burnet-saxifrage.

Larch Pug

Scarce and local, though possibly under-recorded through lack of interest in surveying the conifer plantations that provide ideal habitat for this species.&nbsp; Commonest in the Blackdowns and Quantocks, and also at Stockhill in the Mendips.&nbsp; Likely to be considerably under-recorded on Exmoor where plenty of suitable habitat exists.

Pauper Pug

Sometimes called Fletcher's Pug, a rare, local, species which is a limes specialist in ancient woodland, parkland and avenues. First recorded in the UK in 1962 and in the county in 1999, and since then irregularly in small numbers in a handful of locations in the south-west and north of the county.&nbsp; Comes to light readily.
