Pinion-spotted Pug

A nationally scarce species of hedgerows and woodland edges, and sometimes orchards and gardens, which has always been very rare in the county. The larval foodplant is Hawthorn. May come to light later in the night.

Thyme Pug

Historically rare and local in the county, the species remains very local, recorded very irregularly in small numbers.&nbsp; It inhabits rocky cliffs, limestone quarries and sand-dunes, so in the county most records have been from the Bristol Channel coast. As the name suggests, the larval foodplant is Wild Thyme. It may be disturbed in the day in warm weather.

A moth of species-rich grassland, associated with low-growing composites.&nbsp; Widespread, though apparently absent from inland Exmoor.&nbsp; Most records are of small numbers at light, though it can occasionally be fairly common.&nbsp;&nbsp;
