Dusky Sallow

    Fairly widespread, though absent from parts of east Mendip and from inland Exmoor.  Numbers seem to have fallen from the turn of the century.  A grassland species, it is often recorded by day, nectaring on knapweed or ragwort, as well as to light at night.
