Uncommon; scattered across the
county and, like its foodplant birch, more frequent in the west of the county
than the east.

Brown Alder Bell

Few records, but potentially
under-recorded.&nbsp; Most records are the
result of fieldwork looking for the early stages, and it has never been
documented as coming to light.&nbsp; The hostplant
is alder <i>Alnus glutinosa</i>, a streamside and wetland tree, widely if
unevenly distributed across the county.

Large Sallow Bell

The only tolerably recent record
is of an adult to light in Great Breach Wood (2004).&nbsp; There are historic records from Shapwick,
Crewkerne and Taunton.&nbsp;
