Dark Aspen Bell

Very rare if not extinct.&nbsp; Historic records from Bath, Bickenhall and
Clevedon.&nbsp; Not recorded since the
1950s.&nbsp; The foodplant, aspen <i>Populus
tremula</i>, is scarce in Somerset.

White-blotch Bell

Uncommon; scattered across the
county and, like its foodplant birch, more frequent in the west of the county
than the east.

Large Birch Bell

A variable species that can be
difficult to identify.&nbsp; Most records are
of adults to light, though the larval spinnings can be distinctive.&nbsp; Scarce, and seems to be commoner in the west
of the county than the east.
