    A nationally scarce moth of woodland and heaths with mature birches, which as a resident is restricted in England to the Midlands and Yorkshire and northern Scotland. Outside of those areas it is a scarce immigrant. Turner (1955) listed one very old record at Keynsham. Since 1971 there has been a small number of county records.
