Birch Knot-horn

A rare species in Somerset, associated with birch.&nbsp; Comes to light and knowledge of its distribution might change with targeted searches.&nbsp; Leigh Woods (before 1906), Bickenhall (1948), Shapwick (1955, 1964), West Luccombe (irregularly 1981-2000).

Lime Knot-horn

Associated with lime-woods and rare, both nationally and within Somerset.&nbsp; Traditionally associated with Leigh Woods, but not recorded there since 1995.&nbsp; There are two records in the current century, from Crewkerne (2001) and Walton Common (2013).&nbsp; A species that would merit targeted searching in woods with stands of old lime-trees.

White-barred Knot-horn

Associated with oak, this is a rare species in Somerset, which has not been recorded away from the Mendips.
