Saltern Dwarf

A saltmarsh species, only recorded once, from Sand Bay in 2013.&nbsp; The location suggests a resident species, that might well occur on nearby parts of the coast or at Porlock Marsh.<br>

Grey-spotted Dwarf

A moth of calcareous habitats, feeding on glaucous sedge <i>Carex flacca</i> on which the larvae are easily identifiable in the spring.&nbsp; Possibly ought to be more widespread than records suggest - relatively recently from the Avon Gorge (2003) and Burrington Combe (1987), and long ago from Crewkerne and Haselbury Plucknett.<br>

Dusky Dwarf

New to Somerset in 2022, from Westhay Moor (not yet mapped).&nbsp; The moth's foodplant is cotton-grass, and it might be expected at other sites supporting this species, of which there are many in VC5.
