Elachista cinereopunctella

    Glaucous Sedge-miner

    ElachistidaeABH 38.041 B&F 625

A moth of calcareous habitats, feeding on glaucous sedge Carex flacca on which the larvae are easily identifiable in the spring.  Possibly ought to be more widespread than records suggest - relatively recently from the Avon Gorge (2003) and Burrington Combe (1987), and long ago from Crewkerne and Haselbury Plucknett.
