Common and widespread as a miner on birches on Exmoor and the Quantocks; scarce in the rest of the county and as likely to be found mining hazel as birch here.<br>

Blackthorn Pigmy

Rare and local; just 15 records to date, with around half from the Porlock area.<br>

Large Birch Pigmy

A birch-feeder whose distribution very much reflects the natural distribution of birch within the county - west-dominated, with outposts at Shapwick and parts of the Mendips.&nbsp; Occasionally occurs in areas where birch has been planted.<br>
