Strawberry Pigmy

Just six records, all from calcareous sites in VC6; it is possibly under-recorded. The Somerset records are from mines on wild strawberry.

Bent-barred Pigmy

A miner on wild roses.&nbsp; Much less common than Stigmella anomalella which shares the foodplant, this moth seems to be scarce, local and variable in numbers, preferring calcareous areas.

Pinch-barred Pigmy

Fairly widespread and common throughout the county, with gaps in distribution probably reflecting lack of recording.&nbsp; The usual foodplant is hawthorn, but it also mines apple and possibly other related trees and shrubs.

Pinch-barred Pigmy
