Dark Marbled Carpet

Much scarcer than Common Marbled Carpet, from which it can be difficult to separate.&nbsp; The moth is bivoltine, with the second generation much larger than the first.&nbsp; It is an upland species now, largely on Exmoor, Quantock and parts of the Blackdowns, more thinly distributed on the Mendips.

Autumn Green Carpet

A moth in decline in Somerset as it is nationally.&nbsp; Recorded most years in low numbers up till 2015, when records rather abruptly ceased until two examples turned up in 2021 at Timsbury.&nbsp; A moth to look for in lightly wooded areas on the fringes of Exmoor and the Quantocks, which are rarely trapped in its very late flight season.

Very common and widespread everywhere, occurring in two generations, the second extending late into the autumn.
