Oak Rustic

    Dryobota labecula

    NoctuidaeABH 73.223 B&F 2246a

A recent colonist, first recorded in Britain in 1999, which has become local in south coastal areas from Devon east to Sussex. Outside of these areas it appears to be a scarce immigrant. It occupies woodlands, gardens and hedgerow, where its larval foodplant is evergreen Oak.  First recorded in Somerset in 2018, its status in the county is unclear but records in four consecutive years from the fringes of Taunton suggest a resident population.

    Adult Verification Grade: 1
